Clan MacDougall Society of North America

Let us share Scottish Heritage, Sites, & all things Clan MacDougall and Clan MacDowall with YOU!

About Us

We are a 501 (c) (3), not for profit, Organization. Our purpose is to share Scottish traditions, culture, and heritage with the world.
We strive to make this happen by having a presence here in cyberspace, by having programs that help people learn about the Scottish Arts, and by encouraging tourism to Oban and our heritage sites in Scotland. We also take donations to help other organizations in Scotland maintain those heritage sites.

Meet our Teams

Our Board of Directors are the decision makers of the Society. Those that volunteer as Regional Commissioners and Chairpersons to our Committees also have voting privileges when elections for New Directors and New Officers come up in March and April of each year.

Checkout our Committees

We have 10 Standing Committees within our nonprofit organization. Each one is filled and organized by volunteers who put their hearts and a lot of time into making this organization happen.
Won’t YOU become one of them?
Find out more here!

Get involved with the Games

We have Games and Festivals taking place all over Canada and the U. S.
We don’t have enough volunteers to get the word out. Help us with our missions. Find out what the games are all about. Also find you Regional Commissioner and see what events are happening in your area and how you can get involved.

Kilbride

Learn more about this MacDougall heritage site and those that maintain it.

Dunollie

Learn more about our Clan MacDougall Seat in Oban, Argyll and Butt, Scotland. This site (and many more) have been home to MacDougalls through the ages and we would love to see it survive for the next 5 generations.

See what we are all about.

We have an annual Campaign that is our ONE FUNDRAISER. This keeps us in business for the year, for the most part.
You can make a donation ANY TIME of the year.
We have two Email transmitted communications for our Contributors. The Tartan is published in April, September, and December. The Raven is published the other nine months of the year. The Tartan was our first Newsletter. The Raven is all about what happens within the Society. Join us and learn MORE.

Our Annual Campaign

In our 60 years of existence, we have one annual fundraiser to support ALL of our workings and programs from administration costs, to awards, to Scholarships, to Heritage Site maintenance, and anything else we do. Without our Donors and Contributors (“members”), we would not be able to fulfill our Purposes.

Visit us at The Games!

Highland Games and Festivals are found all over the globe. We have Clan Tent Hosts all over North America. Find a Celtic Festival, a Highland Games Festival, or a Scottish Fest near you. To see where our Hosts will be, visit our Events Page. You can also find us attending Burns Night parties, Tartan Parades, and more! Come on out and be a part of the FUN!

“I want to do all I can to support our organization and its Volunteers-from the Officers to each new member. I am one person but I do what I can to assist in all areas, especially the Games and Festivals in my Regions.”

Jon MacLucas

Mid-Atlantic Regional Commissioner

“My heart is filled a little bit more each time I meet a new visitor and spend quality time with family and friends at our beautiful Northeast Region Scottish Festivals!”
