There are numerous online resources for obtaining a taste, or more, of Gaelic, among which:
LearnGaelic is an interesting website, co-produced by five preeminent institutions:
- Bòrd na Gàidhlig
- MG Alba
- BBC Alba
- Bord na Ceiltis (Alba)
- Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.
It is found at http://www.learngaelic.scot. LearnGaelic provides examples of simple phrases and more complex statements. It has pronunciation sound files and video clips, supported by grammar, dictionary, and thesaurus files. There is material for beginning, intermediate and advanced levels.
An Comunn Gaidhealach Ameireaganach or the American Scottish Gaelic Society maintains a section on its website, http://www.acgamerica.org, that provides information on local and online Gaelic classes and a section on Gaelic learning materials.
